They are nice!!
-
• #1282
I hope that's some sort of sick joke...
-
• #1283
Why would it be a sick joke?!?
-
• #1284
Because that's an obscene amount of money to throw at a pair of handlebars that won't make any difference to your bike or your cycling.
-
• #1285
In your opinion it might be, I work bloody hard for my money so I'll happily spend as much as I choose on my bike,
And I find it hard to understand how you can say it won't make any difference without riding my bike anyway!
-
• #1286
Marginal gains?! ;)
-
• #1287
I think what Alex is trying to say is that perhaps riding more and more to be as fit as possible would be a better idea and that in his opinion the bars wouldn't be worth the money you're spending on them...but then Alex isn't a roadie douché like us!

I don't buy with the idea that they will make me a pro rider or super weight weenie ;) I'm currently doing around 100miles a week on it bikes at the moment anyway,
Some people waste money on alcohol ect I like to spend it on my bikes :)

If you don't think they'll make you any faster, or their lightness will contribute anything, then can I ask why you bought them? I'm not trying to stir things up, I'm just genuinely interested why you went for those rather than, say, the Brand X Race bars on CRC for £11.99 that also have flat tops?
-
• #1290
Because he loves carbon and brands and can I guess?
-
• #1291
Aha, also I don't think douche has an accent on @hudsoncjnr otherwise you'd be a roadie douch-ay!
-
• #1293
Well yeah, I 'could' buy them too, though. Hell, we 'could' all buy a lot of things, it's just the decision to actually go ahead with it that interests me.
-
• #1294
Ha, what can I say - I don't agree with excessive spending, and I correct grammar. I'm a #PeasantPedant
-
• #1295
Different strokes for different folks innit...
I've wasted money on bits I didn't need because I felt like it at the time but it made me smile for a bit, that's all a lot of it is for me at least.
-
• #1296
Who are you to decide what excessive spending is?
-
• #1297
You needn't justify buying things just to make you smile to the guy that spent 200 euros on floral cycling kit! I guess I just don't see it that way with components though - I tend to go for the cheapest option, and as long as it's not unsafe (and as long as it's made by Mavic!) then it's good enough for me :)
-
• #1298
Maybe I should make little diggs about the spending you make?
-
• #1299
Err, me? I'm allowed to decide what I think is excessive.

Go for it.
Placed an order for some carbon Columbus minimal forks and chris king headset,
