The work that's shown me the biggest gains in terms of raising FTP (Over/Unders, 5x10's, 4x15's at SS/threshold) I stand by the statement that I don't think they're easily achievable on the road.
Maybe it's just me or a lack of skill, but on the turbo I can hold the numbers to within +-5 watts. On the road, no chance.
Obvs what you do and how you do it have to do what fits your schedule and lifestyle etc but it's doing something that counts. Being 5w out doesn't matter.
