Looks like number 68 stopped for a wheel change at some point...

That's not a 'Precisa' fork on the white one is it?
-
• #4
:-)
wanted to do a testride with it but had a flat in the front so took another wheel.

No, but I don't think it's a Carrera either. It has a 5-armed star so think it comes from a Guerciotti.

1992ish Carrera Podium. Coloumbus Genius frame.
I'm not convinced that my pics are visible, because no preview on here with this system.
Post it & see, it seems....Still, you can click on it, here on my site: http://bicyclz.com/carrera-podium/
I'm not convinced this will work either, until I upload it to see.
Mods get a grip.

Hurray! It does work partially: ) But not in my own account name...: )
So now I can add some details. This machine was bought as a frame/forks & built up as shown here with available components.
A lovely rider it turns out, with tight clearances & steep angles. Weighing 21.4lbs as seen above.Carrera Podium really deserves a dedicated thread on here: )
These machines are almost unknown in UK because they are not actively marketed here. (Halfrauds own the name in UK)
Let's see more.

Wow! That is a very cool, neat machine: )
Well done you!Interesting to compare, because yours looks to be of similar vintage to mine.
Without the later 90s, too flashy for me, multi-coloured paintwork that became fashionable a little later in the 90s. I've had a couple of similar period Simoncinis that had 'over the top' paint jobs...Do you know what year yours is? Frame tubing?
I've spent many hours online trying to find another similar to mine, with little success as yet!
I know these Carreras are few & far between in UK, so I knew it was a long shot posting here. I've posted on Bikeforums in USA, & others, with very little results.Do show us some more pics & info about yours please.
I got lots to show about mine, & as you say, there should be a dedicated thread on here.We could keep this thread going I'm sure: )
Carreras are proper Italian exotics IMHO. Just not known enough. Yet!
Mine has these amazing, almost shoulderless Unicrown forks that really please my eye.
Check it here:http://bicyclz.com/carrera-podium/
I do not think they are original, but they are so pleasing to me.Yours looks to have the Carrera One headbadge too: )

I attended 'The Big One' bike jumble on Saturday 10th Nov. I picked up a nos bike helmet from a stallholder who lives towards Croydon. He also had a Carrera helmet and was complaining that in the UK people only know the Halfords mtbs.
I didn't get his name but the bike jumble organiser might be able to track him down if any of you are interested. -

Same bike as first post but with some small changes made.

I'm finding that Carrera Podium are not responding to my emails asking about their history...
http://www.carrera-podium.it/
Doesn't give me a lot of confidence in their current operations....
But maybe they just busy. Or do not understand English: ( -

Some very nice bikes in this thread. I put this together in Summer 2017. Frame is Columbus Neuron and was bought NOS from a Bike shop in Geneva.

Bought the frame inc. forks, bar & stem for this at a bike jumble a couple of years ago. Twelve months build with period(ish) Campag and new Mavic Open Pros.
Perhaps not the lightest, but reasonably stiff and responsive. Respray not an exact match, but works for me.

Hi, old post I know, did you sell this frame? Thanks
I was quite surprised there wasn't a thread about Carrera (Podium) bikes on this forum before. So let me do the kick off and post my 2 steel Italians. The second one I only picked up this morning so I need to do some cleanup and take a better picture.
