• Luddlet #3 is moving on to something that is more his size, so his beautiful little Orbit is up for sale. I'm in Forest Hill (SE23) and I'd prefer collection, not least because you'll probably want to have a good look at it before deciding whether it's right.

    Frame dimensions:
    17.5" seat tube ctc
    21" top tube ctc
    head tube 2 3/4"!
    chainstay 14.5"
    seatstay 18"
    standover height 27.5"

It's a beautifully built frame with neat lugs and a very stylish slim form crown and a sparkly slightly greenish blue paint finish. It's got the usual scuffs and scrapes, but no dents and only a bit of superficial rust on some of the scuffs.

I'd say this would suit someone from about 4'10" upwards. My son is about 5'7" now and I really think he's too tall for it now - his knees are almost hitting the bars, and you can see here the daft high rise stem he's been using.

It comes with a rather lovely Campag 8 speed triple gearset, featuring their rather obscure thumbshifters (indexed) and rather. Campag headset, probably campag bb (but I've not checked) and lovely campag SP brakes with original campag pads.

Campag hubs with FIR EA10 rims, on which the anodising is barely worn. There's a bit of play in the rear hub - I've simply not got round to adjusting this.

It's currently got steel bars on a hideous but useful Kalloy stem, but I could provide ITM Millennium drop bars. I'm inclined to hang on to the basic shimano brake levers for his next bike. Seatpost is included, but no saddle and he'll probably want to keep the lovely plastic pedals.

Chances are that people will ask about splitting, and I'm willing to do that. Let me know if there are parts you're interested in, make me an offer or ask me for a price.

  • Will start splitting shortly, unless anyone comes along with an offer close to £190.

  • This is absolutely amazing, has to be one of the nicest smaller-sized bikes I've seen. It's got nicer forks than my 'proper' training bike! Great build too.

Just out of interest, how's everything sized? Wheels and crank arms, for example?

  • The wheels are 650c, I should have mentioned that! The crank arms are, slightly surprisingly, 170mm.

  • Hi
I'm want to buy it ,where are You base?

  • As stated above, I'm in SE23.

  • Also potentially interested, will PM

  • I love this and it would be perfect for my son who is turning 10. (He's tall for his age). I'm not in London though, and as a long time lurker here (between family, work and bike riding I just haven't found the time to post), I don't think I can PM yet. Anyway, if it doesn't work out with others who are interested, and you could post it, I would like to be 3rd in line. Thanks!

  • I've noted your interest, thank you.

  • now sold, on its way to a happy and caring home
