Coming out here was the best decision I've ever made, love it... Looking at houses, just seen one we love that we can easily afford... By this time next week we may have put a cheeky offer in... #anotherdayinparadise #peninsulalife

dredge but a very insightful article: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jul/04/golden-visa-immigration-deal-british-citizenship-home-office
This bit especially is British bureaucracy in a nutshell:
Because the original investment is returned to the applicant along with any interest accrued, the state technically makes a loss on each visa.
Thanks!
All going well, moving into the upstairs flat of a property our friends own next week... Cheap rent, bills thrown in, two minute walk from the beach, pretty perfect...
I should be starting work next week... Bit of a change for me, I'll be working at Cascade Place, it's a day centre run by the Cerebral Palsy League... I'll be looking after clients mainly doing some music/visual arts stuff as well as going out fishing, sailing, gigs, pub trips, etc... Be nice to not be working for the man full time, I've still got work coming in from the UK which has been keeping me pretty busy as well...
Not regretting a thing, tho' I'm missing my buds and those long spring/summer nights at Le Reej... The perfect start!
