I seem to remember the issues that we have are different - yours freezes, mine just dies...
What software are you using? Also OSM or the official Garmin ones? I'm thinking of shelling out for the garmin maps to see if that helps. I guess if I can warranty the unit I can just use the maps in the new one.

Okay I'm getting beyond frustrated with my Garmin.
I'm using an 810 with 3.60 software and OSM.
The issue I'm having is that the unit randomly turns off. There is no warning (sound or anything) that this might happen, and I only notice when I look at the screen to see it's gone blank. When I restart the device it gives me the option to save/discard the ride that I was on.
This happens (so far) only when the device is used as a simple computer (ie without navigation going). I'm going on a long ride this weekend so will risk it with nav going then to see what happens. Auto power down has been set to both off and on when this has happened, likewise with tones.
It first happened in March, so I'm wondering if I updated the software then and can roll it back?
Does anyone else have similar issues? There are lots of threads on the Garmin site that suggest similar, but most people seem to have the issue when navigating.
