Stumbled on this on freeview tv, found this thread as well.

So if i understand it all rightly.
King Eddy set a record years ago, took a while for Boardman/Obree to smash it, UCI then ban the modern bikes and positions and you go back to attempt on a classic profiled bike like Eddy used.
Roll on many years and the UCI do a u-turn on the bikes, but effectively quash the banned bikes records and go for a restart with Eddys record on a bike of that period but you can now have a go on a modern bike with extra areos.

I am drinking red wine, but that appears to be the UCI giving Boardman and Obree yet another kicking many many years after there attempts and bans by writing off there efforts and re-starting but modern equipment against an old record on a classic bike........ nuts !

Either way hope Wiggs does a good race, got enough wine to see it out and shout at the telly :-)

Nah it was reverted to Sosenka's record, so some of the Boardman/Obree records stood, others didn't.

Someone will correct me but I think they decided that it had to have been set on a pursuit legal bike at the time the record was set.

Sky could've done so much with the graphics.
But they didn't...

Watching on freeview "Pick" channel if thats any use for anyone with dicky feeds.
