Just checking in to say "Hi".
After many years of riding british build frames only I've given in and got something different this time. Not very common to see NJS and Reynolds 853 mentioned together, I've only seen pictures of about 5 of them and one of them in real life (Matt Cramptons' Makino). There must be more.
Still missing few parts to make it rideable, but it should be on a road in a few days.

Its great. And now the possibility of victory is unlimited.
As someone who has lived in Tokyo for over 10 years, that phrase is very embarrassing! Makes me want to get my bike resprayed and have Makino's other decals applied.

@DoktorPepe your tyre's on backwards...
Frame looks like it's going to be lovely! Let's have a bigger pic!

That wheel was in there only temporary, all my tires fitted correctly when being used.
Just finished making it rideable. Failed to buy a pretty chain, most things will change, got a Soma Highway One and Ritchey quill stem in the post.

Gumwalls don't suit IMO

I'll be swapping wheels for silver with low flange hubs, it'll work then. For now it will do.

Nice. Frame is nice enough to look aswsome on its own.

Yeah it seems a shame to even build it up as it will never live up to the frame.

Couple of photos from recently.
With the man himself (Nagasawa san) at one of the stages of the Tour of Japan and one from a pretty rainy event at Kawasaki Urban Bank (Keirin track) that was in a decent fixed gear magazine here (Loop).
Nagasawa san was pretty funny. He basically sat in a big truck (I am reliably informed that it is akin to 'The Nagasawa Mobile') smoking and looking unapproachable/grumpy.

Ah just the rear is the Araya! The front is infact a Hed3 (well spotted!).

Ha yes. And too good to be put on the wall.

I'll strip it down again and will see how I get on riding just a frame.
Tough crowd :)Just a frame:

It was good before, just the frae is soo nice. Look sick with the silver wheels.
-
• #392
but that would be pointless.

@DoktorPepe build it up.
ride the shit out of it and love it. dont be lame -
• #394
I will ride it regardless what people say.
I think Vivalo was trying to question HHC's mad idea of it being too good to build, too good to go on a wall.

Hey Dom,
I wish I could have made it down for that last event, awesome to meet Nagasawa-San, Eddie should have gone too because Nagasawa is meant to be replacing a few tunes on his frame sometime soon!

That is indeed what I was going for.

pepe i reckon silver wheels will look great. unsure on gumwall though
-
• #398
I really don't mind gumwalls on it, promise it'll look better with different wheels.
Anyone wants fixed/fixed Macks laced to A23's?

You're taking it way out of context.
I said:
Nice. Frame is nice enough to look aswsome on its own.
To which @vivalo replied. For some reason I thought it was you who replied so I agreed with it (not to say that the build wasn't good, just to praise the frame).
Since then I have been accused of many wrongdoings none of which were meant in any bad ways.I will say this:
The frame is really nice, the bike is nice, will look awesome with the silver wheels you have ordered. Gumwalls are good.

No one is accusing you of anything wrong, just seemed a strange suggestion at the time.
Thanks for comments.
Wheels are not ordered yet as I haven't made up my mind on what I want exactly. I'm not in a huge rush either, so something nice may came along in classifieds.
Yeah, I don't understand how it works, only put them on as I couldn't find my Nitto post. Happy accidents.
