Only the middle and left are relevant to your question. Clinchers are basically what most standard tyres are. Tubs are in laymans terms a tyre and inner tube combined and are glued to the rim, clinchers are hooked in place by the bead into the rim.
Can't speak for the Gators myself as not used them. Hardshells seem popular on here for people who skid a lot.
I've used all sorts of tyres over the years, mainly at the bargain basement end. Honestly can't feel much difference myself. Cheap ones and really posh thin ones tend not to hold up as well to glass/grit/skidding but other than that haven't really noticed the difference. Currently using maxxis refuse on my tarck bike and some silly wafer thin cheap michlins on my road bike. The latter are complete shit.
Just don't take nos 30yr old 19c tyres across hampstead heath or canal paths. Managed to kill a pair in 2 days doing that....
