20 minutes plus 3 laps ;)

What kind of pace will this be? 4th cats keep up?
-
• #5
Depends which race you enter I guess. Due to work issues I've not done anythign re training or entering so as per last year I'll be popping down for a couple of hours with a few tinned beers.
-
• #6
I'll be popping down after work around 7ish.

really pissed off that I can't make it this year - friends 50th. might try & swing it with the missus to go to this first & turn up late to the party

I'm doing the folding bike race again. Shipped the chain on lap 2 in the heats last year and finished second from last I think. Hoping for a better showing..

Will have to try and figure out how to get the pass out from wife and small child so might be there early and leaving mid way or getting there later on.
Pile of bikes from last year are below, >>>>"Ways not to look your bike"

Dimi3 and T4nya and photoBen all raced last year too.

• #12
What time does this kick off/do you need to purchase the grandstand tickets?!
-
• #13
@Fahrgestell According to the race schedule the first race (folding bikes) is at 15.30
Last year majority of people just wandered around the outside so no need to buy tickets. All depends on how good a view you want and how tall you are.

Who's going to this then? I'm hoping to go for a bit (probably on me todd) so meeting up with some forumungers would be good. I'll probably be there early as not sure I can be there for the whole thing.
Race schedule here by the way

If I can persuade Chloe, we'll be there.
Probably at "forum corner", down past the sainsburys...
Also it depends how successful our first ride to Brighton is... -
• #16
To Brighton with the lady @eyebrows? Could be a make or break one with you mullering along at about 25mph the whole way. Maybe use one leg or something.
Give me a shout when you decide what you're up to, not sure which one forum corner is (although pretty sure i could work it out easily enough)

Off Cock lane I think.
Start of the new finishing straight, so may be more popular a location this time round.
Yeah, we're starting from Guildford (to reduce the distance) and only going off- roads/ away from traffic.
I'll be carrying the luggage so it'll be alright. -

Yep, I'm racing again this year. I'm going to register this afternoon and do a few laps of the course to try out this anti-clockwise business.
edit: No laps were done as it's mostly one way traffic.... so the race is gonna be.... interesting.

• #19
I'll be there from 3- holding the bags and cheering (heckling) the folding bike race.
-
• #20
Me Christine and k will hopefully be there.
-
• #21
I will be here again this year, although working as crew, so if you see someone looking harassed and wearing a forum cap, say hello!
-
• #22
What time is the hipster arriving this year?
-
• #24
I will be around during the day and evening.
-

I'll be there for the earlier races. Looking unhip, but in a forum cap for sex appeal.
Is there a lfgss standard loitering zone (@eyebrows mentioned a bit near sainsburys)? I'll head there and hope someone says hi....
There was a fair bunch of forumungers there last year, I wanted to see who would be going and if anyone was racing - I think @HoKe was in last year
There are a couple of more serious rides and not so serious such as the Bromton/Commuter race and the Penny Farthing racethat I think Kat is racing in. Tempted to go in for the Brooks Retro race - I should be able to manage 20 minutes and dig out some tweed. @pharoahsanders fancy doing a joint Mercian entry?
