  • Unrelated: next time you make gnocchi from scratch, take the patience to make them really tiny, the outcome is somehow even better than normal! (Make sure the dough is really tough by adding more and more flour until your wrist is sore from kneading it)

  • Ha I jest. I'll be the life of the party!

  • Probably best to PM him for now and see if you can get an idea of timescales--jcgarcia.

  • Meht, if she's frowning at the gnocchi, she's out to lunch. Not literally.

  • 90p can get you a lot of lunch out here in Rwanda:

Spinach, pumpkin, sweet potato, pint of milk (also popular is the half pint of fresh yoghurt)

  • At the risk of not being able to get a seat at lunchtime, the calamari buncadillo (burger) and beer deal at tapas revolution on Bethnal Green Road is worth a visit.

On the pizza front this caught my interest. Not viable at the price - for me at least - but give it a couple of years and no doubt they'll be doing them in homebase for > £. I'd like to see the smoker version that's 'coming soon'.

  • it aint the gnocchi.

  • look at it all. FUCKING LOOK AT IT!!!!

  • It's a great unsung cuisine... Glad you're making the most of it...

  • Top notch gnocchi, loving the white plates.

  • Ahahah was it you or someone else that complained about the red plates a while back? I got some squares white now.. Planning on getting some proper deep pasta plates as well soon.

  • red plates to square white plates, wtf!

    aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!!11111111111111oneoneone

  • @inchpincher @giofox88 @rive_gauche
There's square plates at the flat I'm at now. And they have really big sloping brim bits that means the actual flat section you eat off in the middle is really small. THEY PISS ME RIGHT OFF

  • They sound good for soup.
    Dibs.

  • Square plates anonymous <<<<<<<<<

  • Made a staple dirty hangover dinner last night. All ingedients sourced from the local petrol station shop. It's a kinda scummy tesco metro version of a po'boy and involves: a white baguette, a bag of frozen breaded scampi, coleslaw, jalepenos and cholula chilli sauce.

Eaten off one of these btw. http://www.nationalgallery.co.uk/products/melamine_plate_set_9_plates/p_1033129

  • Do you know how they cook the spinach dish, spices etc?

  • Ahahah was it you or someone else that complained about the red plates a while back? I got some squares white now.. Planning on getting some proper deep pasta plates as well soon.

It was indeed I who has the coloured plate issues - detracted from your decent food. Not a fan of giant crockery either especially with my weak portion control, spaghetti bolognase in a ramen bowl is not OK apparently.

I'd love to get the David Shrigley plates and cups they use/sell at Sketch but they're too pricey to ever actually get grubby. I do however own a set of his salt & pepper shakers!

  • Awesome, I only saw the 'dust' and 'nothing' ones

  • For anyone that owns a Kenwood food mixer I heartedly recommend the spice mill attachment which Currys and John Lewis have for under £20 at the moment. Comes with three or four glass storage containers and deals with flaxseed, coffee and whole spices with ease. New favourite toy.

  • I wouldn't put coffee anywhere near one of those tbh.

  • Went to Mallorca last week and got some Sobrasada Cerdo Negro made from locally bred pigs only, seems to be impossible to buy outside Spain.

  • I hear ya, I've still got a ceramic hand mill and an aeropress but can only be arsed with the faff about once a week. Decent beans + kenwood > off the shelf ground coffee
