Does anyone have an opinion on the padded boxer shorts?

Do they offer some comfort without feeling like a nappy? Is it worth sizing down to help prevent this?

I commute in the padded boxer shorts. Wouldn't use them for long rides but under an hour is fine. Definitely size down, there's a lot of stretch in them.
