Ah I saw Kirkkoniemi and thought Kirkenes, I've inherited a Norwegian state of mind I suppose.
Thinking of doing a frame building course this summer and maybe getting a fatbike out of it that way. Did you run into any fatty-specific problems making this one compared to others?

Uhh that is delicious.
Konga is mighty pretty as well. I need a fat bike

I see it now, that is a little bit miss leading sign ;)
No, I did not run into any fatty-specific problems despite that it is very different compared to production fatbikes. This is also my second fatbike frame.
70 degree head angle with longish headtube to avoid using big spacer stack, currectly one 5mm spacer under the stem and one 10mm spacer on top of the stem.
73 degree effective seattube angle with 35mm offset seattube, I have don't have tube bender for the seattubes and I actually like the look of the offset seattube.
415-435 mm chainstay length and 68mm BB drop.
28t chainring is only limitation of the short chainstays, but that's ok for my needs.
A much easier to climb than you would think. You can see some of the build pics on my instagram

Did @mmccarthy put those forks on? They look back to front.

• #534
What fork is that?!
-

Nice wheels, nice saddle, nice bars. Having seen it in the flesh, the frame has a bunch of questionable design "features" and I don't even want to start on the fork...

Awesome!
Pretty basic dampening I imagine though!

Thanks!

Did someone say forks?

Got some forks.
Need to dish the wheel and finish tensioning it. And build the fat rear end for my LTS-5.

Nice. Got tyre/crown clearance at full compression?
-
• #542
Not tested yet, might have to get them serviced and rebuild with taller bumpstops.
Should have space for a 4.5" ish tyre, so that's 4.8 in marketing terms... will get a ruler out this weeekend.

Thje Yoke they use at the chainstays is very nice. Really helps get the clearance without pushing the wheels bac.
My Triton fatty is in summer mode. I've pulled all of the carbide studs out of the tyres. Plus a I put a 32 Raceface chainring on.
Needs a new stem really. I was considering a Syntace one that lowers the front end a bit.

Had been meaning to return my fat bike alfine hub for a warranty issue, managed to just get it in before the warranty period expired. Been told today that I am getting a brand new hub. Did think about upgrading to Di2, but alfine Di2 is not warrantied for offroad use, so sticking to mechanical.

Cheapest place for 80-100mm rims?
My GFS rims are beyond shite. Don't deserve to nice hubs they are laced to. Want to upgrade.
Need winter tyres too. Somethingvthat will take a stud. Thinking bud and lou. Need to check rear clearance first.
hauska tutustua!

I am picking up my Krampus Ops today....in about 2 hours!
