No one seems to sell them anymore, in the meantime I'm recommending the pelago racks, which do the same thing for less and come in two sizes,

Wish I'd seen them before getting the blackburn. Has anyone seen one in the steel? Are they solid etc

They're all made from stainless so id say so

Looks good - thank you.

Did some fiddling with the blackburn today, need to get the panniers ordered and try it loaded before ordering anything else... Could well be getting the smaller one though looks pretty good, and the black one would look dope.

Handles well on gravel. Here's some shots from yesterday morning. I need to lower the front rack so I can lower the straddle cable and improve braking.

Just a side road from here:

There's a loop I can do that includes these roads which is about 30k's from my front door.

How's this going dude? Any updates?

Yeah, really good. I've only been commuting on it, but I love it. Hadn't had much free time with upcoming parenthood consuming a lot of our time, but I'm still commuting on it daily.
I'd like to put bigger tyres on it (maybe 35c to fit under the guards, or bigger without the guards as we're going into summer), but I really like the Clement X'PLOR's. I also ordered some Shimano A530 pedals today to replace my dying Time ATACs.
This is how it is at the moment.

The foggy trees?
It can be pretty eerie when it's that foggy and all you can hear is the sound of your tyres on gravel, your breathing and random nature noises.

I've recently switched completely to Shimano mtb system, xt on the cxommutourer, m520 on fixed and m324 on rack bike. The only thing to watch for is that you get the single release cleats, not the multi release (which seem to come with most of the pedals) retention/security is equally as solid as Atac, and they seem more stable. Can't believe all the hysteria around Shimano mtb pedals, work excellent on the fixed and on everything else.
Looking forward to long cleat life too.

I test rode them with the single release cleats on fixed last week and they were rock solid. The 520s are like £17 with sr cleats from wiggle, bargainz.

thats the thing init.
new pedals for that much its hard to find a reason not to.out of interest do you find any of the pedals much better than each other?

They all use the same mechanism, the xt tourer pedals were Allen key only fitment and were a pain to get out (rounded one off packing in budapest) so just went for the 520 cheap option for fixed as they can be fitted with a pedal spanner. Read up all about them and basically the 520s have the same bearings as the 530s, they seem fine and come in. 3 colours.

rad.
need to get cleats cut off of my shoes but then my try out some 520s then -
• #47
Yeah, I went with the A530's because they're flat on one side and I wanted to be able to ride in normal shoes if I wanted. My wife has Shimano pedals (can't remember what ones), and they seem fine.
