Not sure how serious... gonna try it on a bike anyway. Some padding might be in order.
To be honest, I think a lot of people make too much of how shit "Ergo" bends are. If you want to put them on your bike and they suit your hands, don't let the haters put you off.

Yeah, I've seen that. A bit more serious effort than mine. OTOH, I didn't have to modify the clamp. I'm not expecting that to be hugely ergonomic, although actually the reach doesn't seem to be too far off. Also zero euros (and not a lot of time either) spent.

Can't wait to hear how it rides.
I've been considering child carrying cargo bike options and this is currently winning in my mind over a bullet. Seems a great compromise of load carrying ability and not being too long.

I fancy dabbling in a bit of TT this year, and also am considering getting a new wheelset for both trialling and speed work on the road bike. It would make sense to use my winter bike (a PX Pro Carbon with 3T finishing kit) with aerobars for TT and leave the nice summer bike for fast road riding. The only catch is that the winter bike is Ultegra 10spd and summer bike is Ultegra 11spd and I'd like to be able to swop the wheels between both.
I therefore need to:
- change the block on the wheel every time I change between bikes (preferred)
- upgrade the 10spd gearset to 11spd.
The latter option will be expensive, but the biggest difference I notice between bikes is the new brifter design and the smoothness of shifting of 6800 so I'm considering the cost of new brifters and mechs and making the change.
Is there anything else to consider? Worst case is that I end up with matching groupsets (and therefore can swop Stages between them too) and no more money for bike parts...

Ta - I've skimmed and none of the articles quite answer how running an 11spd cassette in a 10spd system performs apart from the guy who says it doesn't quite work. Backed up here: http://cyclingtips.com.au/2014/10/mixing-groupsets-what-works-together-and-what-doesnt/

The disc brake bodge felt actually usable, great success!
(for the record: not fan of the ergo bars, just what I had lying around :)

Initially just for fun I guess, added the rack later on for shopping.

11spd +10spd chain will not work.
Get a second cassette and swap it out with a spacer on the rear hub (each time)
Piss simple. -

Yep - I've had another chat about this offline with a mate and it makes more sense. Not that much faff really.
