The Cat Thread

Our previous cat developed a taste for drinking from pint glasses too. It was super cute, and then one day she stopped easting and drinking entirely. On a trip to the vet's it turned out she had been (successfully) drinking quite a bit to manage her failing kidneys.

A vet has advised that it's relatively uncommon for cats to drink in situations where they have to stick their head inside (like inside the glass). Apparently they generally prefer to lap from the surface of bowls, and some can be super fussy and need the bowl full to the brim.

I'm not saying any of this is necessarily an issue for you, but wanted to pass on my experiences. It may be worth keeping an eye on.
