  • what about the overshoes, any issues with those?

  • The overshoes are fantastic, seem to do everything its says on the tin.

Very little wear to the foot/ toe ends that are also reinforced so could have some longevity to them.

  • Cheers.. I agree they are pretty bloody good..

  • got me a new sky pro team bibshort with cumulated sale and discount code, nice

on another topic, can someone tell rapha to tell jonathan Edwards not to wear all his attire at once while presentingthe triathlon.. painful watch

  • Because

  • Looking for divine assistance at the step.

  • rapha city jacket. re-waterproofing.

what are we using? Sorry if the answer to this is buried in here somewhere but all this torrential wind and rain is seeing mine used rather a lot these last weeks and I'm getting steadily wetter : /

  • Do your own Hour Record on Lee Valley VeloPark's closed road circuit on June 7th a few hours before Sir Brad does his on the boards...a good opportunity for anyone who has signed up for the Strava #myhour challenge, or just wants to have a stab at it for fun.

The best thing is that there will be a big photobooth at the end to get your photo done holding your distance looking the worst you've ever looked, just like the pros!

  • I've been washing with Granger's Performance Wash and then using XT Spray-on for years and mine is still going strong.

  • sounds ideal then, cheers.

  • I've tried the Rapha products and they're very, very similar to Grangers. I suspected they may just be rebranded. I went back to Granger's because I couldn't tell the difference and it's cheaper.

  • Grangers make the stuff for rapha and add the "essence of ventoux" smell.

  • Is the Grangers 2 in 1 wash/proofer any good? #lazy

  • 2 part does a better job.

  • Does anyone have an opinion on the padded boxer shorts?

Do they offer some comfort without feeling like a nappy? Is it worth sizing down to help prevent this?

    Thank you!

  • SUCH A GREAT IDEA!

    Signed up for 1PM.

  • I've got some old Rapha ones which are a bit too big - thin pad which doesn't do too much. And I guess the slight too-bigness means they chafe a smidge too.
I've got some DHB ones which I sized down. They cut off the blood to my legs.
Not fun to wear any padded pants all day long to be honest - the pad will keep your bits hot and sweaty, which provides a fertile ground for breeding bacteria, which then leads to what you're trying to prevent - saddle sores.
So the best thing is to bring spare pants with you to work and change in the loos.
And many days you will forget your pants and swing free, free as a bird.

  • Thank you! I'll probably not bother then.

  • If you have a hard ass from a lot of riding #notaeuph they are pretty good. I always found too much padding hurt more than just a thin pad after an 9 hour ride. Personal preference prevails though. Worth a gamble with a discount code I guess

  • I commute in the padded boxer shorts. Wouldn't use them for long rides but under an hour is fine. Definitely size down, there's a lot of stretch in them.

  • So Rapha sent me yet another code for 15% who wants ? first dibs on this thread get its, please don't PM me!

  • Dibs?

  • You might want to look at the Craft Cool shorts. I have had a couple of pairs for more than 3 years now. I have had to put a few stitches in here and there, but they are great. Nice thin pad for commutes and the odd longer ride in touring shorts. My only gripe was they can be a bit short but they now come in a longer version.

I wore through a pair of the merino shorts pretty quickly. Pity, because they were pretty comfy. Not sure if merino is up to the job, as I've worn through icebreaker tights in a few months too.

Talking of merino, @HoKe, I have had the Rapha merino arm and knee warmers for 3+ years now, and they are as good as new (bar a small nick from a recent fall). Brilliant kit.
