  • I fancy dabbling in a bit of TT this year, and also am considering getting a new wheelset for both trialling and speed work on the road bike. It would make sense to use my winter bike (a PX Pro Carbon with 3T finishing kit) with aerobars for TT and leave the nice summer bike for fast road riding. The only catch is that the winter bike is Ultegra 10spd and summer bike is Ultegra 11spd and I'd like to be able to swop the wheels between both.

    I therefore need to:

    • change the block on the wheel every time I change between bikes (preferred)
    • upgrade the 10spd gearset to 11spd.

The latter option will be expensive, but the biggest difference I notice between bikes is the new brifter design and the smoothness of shifting of 6800 so I'm considering the cost of new brifters and mechs and making the change.

Is there anything else to consider? Worst case is that I end up with matching groupsets (and therefore can swop Stages between them too) and no more money for bike parts...
