sounds like it could work well

1) It's a voluntary job, if we have a few people per country nobody should be hassled too much (can keep track) and show helper + requester. Obviously small parcels are easy, frames etc. more cumbersome.
2) That's the bigger issue. We can use a feedback thread maybe?
I see how with expensive items it's risky, but sometimes there are unexpected bargains in other areas.

Going to revive this as interested in this prospect. Especially if anyone were to be going from Japan to the UK. I know its not exactly the same as what was suggested by @JWestland but it runs along the same lines:
For instance (definitely just an example) if they were to take a frame with them that would eliminate the evil customs charge.Sadly have next to no connections unless anyone is interested in picking up some Pakistani steel?

Hmm...perhaps, but I believe in some countries they stop you if you show up with a Very Large Box. I brought a bike from NL to UK so of course nobody asked...EU to EU.
However if its posted internationally via Slow Mail it may go under the radar, though UK customs may still seize it. However, for small parts posting with low value often works.

I would be thinking in a bike box or if you can fit it in a suitcase. I thought they don't charge you for that kind of thing.
Got it, kind of, sorted anyway just by declaring it at a much lower price. Still could be bad though.
Hi -
Just a suggestion, see if there's interest. So, sometimes you find a LOVELY part, but...the seller doesn't want to post.
I have family in The Netherlands who can forward and friends in France who can forward. So in theory that's NL/France sorted.
Others here may have friends in the USA, Japan etc. If we build a "re-direct" network of volunteers it can benefit all.
I guess it's a matter of trust to ensure somebody doesn't take your item, but as LFGSS keeps an eye on everybody to ensure they're not bad traders we can maybe work something out.
Let me know what you think.
