You'll need this
Nobody needs that. Might as well put friction levers on the down tube.

I ran 44T single ring front, 11-32 Sram XX cassette, Ultegra 6700 10 speed, short cage mech and Retroshift (or whatever they call themselves now) shifters, purely for 'Cross, which in my case means the Summer Series races, held in mid-summer on pretty hard, dry fast courses.
I can't remember having chain slap, and the chain stay didn't reveal any.
I only changed that setup because I found that I was riding almost exclusively in the drops, and therefore could not reach the shifter - I had thought that I'd be on the tops most of the time, which turned out to be wrong.

That's exactly the terrain/use I had in mind and I'm going to use a similar mech so great, highly relevant infos! Ta.

Genevieve isn't it?
That's retro and shifting. -

new brakes on my roadie!

Single pivots. Do they work?
-
• #102109
They look very similar to the Planet X Ultralights (most likely the same) which have a sort of lever actuation system. They have loads of power, but a little tricky to set up.

Forgot to say, I used a K-Edge chain keeper at the front, not sure if it was needed or not, but the chain certainly stayed put.

Crazy weekend with 250k and 10000ft of climbing. 80% gravel. In either pouring rain and 8°, or 30m/s headwinds.

Mine took 3 months to heal properly and and hurt years after. Good luck!

We can rebuild him

I think the gumwalls match lovely with yellow stripe on frame, very nice overall :)
What fork is that? I've one coming for a Bumblebee build and the original forks aren't drilled, so was thinking of going Crabon Fibre

Thanks! Funnily, I'm so worried about trashing the new wheels and tyres I've swapped back to a beater set for riding to work. Stupid really.
Forks are Tifosi 1" threadless. Carbon blades, alu steerer. Can be had for around £80 or £90. I think from wiggle? Not overly light but they seem strong.

Now getting closer to testride, picked up my frontwheel today, Velocity rim laced to a sram hub.
I also added deda seatpost, thomson elite stem and ec30 riserbar.
I hope mr postman deliver my front tyre tomorrow :)

Ow dear...like fear of the first scratch? :)
I am going to build some wheels but Belfast roads and winter weather mean no £££ parts and no ultra light rims... I've been lusting after the Mack ones but can't justify it ;)
Missing this already....
