Sorry - yes. Housing with interruptions is lighter, but in my experience it's at the interruptions where you get problems with compression and friction, probably amounting to the same or more than you would get with a full length run of good quality outer.

I would have thought the exposure to stuff kicked up from the front wheel would gunk up that exposed down tube cable way before one on the top tube?
