  • Whoops just re-read this again, sorry! I'll give this a try next time round.

Though my pump doesn't have the special button that releases the pressure! :(

  • Wish I didn't read this article =/

    http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/specials/schwalbe-one-tubeless-clincher

@7VEN What did you use for your crabon clinchers again?

  • Continental Race 28 with the non threaded 80mm valve. I think PX have them on sale..

  • Tubeless ftw

  • Dont bother With tape. Get some velo plugs.

Those Wheels look very nice indeed.

I'd just get some valve extenders. The ones that you swap the valve core into. Install With a wrap of plumbers tape, and they'll be great.

I thought I'd be clever and use the Topeak extender that you screw in each time you want to pump Your tyres up. This leaves the original valve inside the rim, and not rattling in the valve hole. But I destroyed 2 now. The first after using twice, and the second on the first use. Luckily they havent lasted long enough to take on a ride.

...Which reminds me. Put a strip of black electrical tape around the valve where meets the rim. The rattling can be super annoying.

  • and use proper QR skewers

    ref: Neil's BB30 creak-gate

  • KCNC if you want Budget lightness.

  • Cheers guys for all the input, I've decided to go with supersonic, I was siding for latex but seeing how close the perform with race28 light tube were, I decided to take a gamble and go for these instead and hope the lightweightness will make up the rolling resistance. (Just thinking at loud atm, so obviously I could be wrong) #trail&error

@Smallfurry I've never seen the velo plug before, what advantages do they have over normal rim tape?

  • In the meantime, this is the reason why I skipped office beers tonight...

  • FRICKING AUTO CORRECT!! =/

Office Beers or Bears, both doesn't end well for me anyways! ;)

  • Yeeeeeez

  • Veloplugs are lighter.
I used them because I had internal nipples and wanted the be able to access them. They do work well though.

  • DAMMIT!! Oh well, live and learn I guess.

  • I totally forgot to say that, the reason I choose the normal inner tubes over the latex ones is the thought that the heat of the carbon rims overheating and causing them to pop is a risk too far in my books to take.

So hence the more risky supersonic tubes instead 😓

  • So a few bits arrived to almost complete the puzzle.

Only problem was when placing my order for the DA Di2 gear kit when Ribble said it was out of stock! DAMMIT!!!! :/

    #ShutUp&TakeMyMoney

Hopefully they'll restock soon and the bike will be built by next month and I can give it a quick spin around the Kent countryside before heading to do the ambitious of Coast2Coast at the end of the month.

  • Shoulda got the DA 9000 crankset. Shifting is so much better compared to rotor!

  • but weight

  • The weights Rotor list are for cranks only, if you compare apples for apples ..

468 grams for cranks + 150 grams for a set of rings + 11 grams for ring bolts = 630 grams!

But the point is HoKe chose Rotor for aesthetic reasons

  • Rotor is a better solution. Use whatever chain rings you want, add powermeter if you want......
