RE: stem - each to their own I guess. I used an X2, it didn't work / I used an ARX, it did. Haven't swapped any components on my bike since it was built, nearly a year ago. Not that fickle.

RE: old Assos kit: Do you prefer riding around advertising Sky and their affiliated companies? Or triangles and flower print? Crossed hammers and scythes and tattoos perhaps? Giant "meh". I find it quite fun getting colourful interesting old jerseys for £10-15, which are technically nearly identical to today's. What's wrong with that? Should I fall in line and pay £120 for something black with a white band around the arm?

What would be the procedure for custom-painting carbon frames? Could Armourtex do it? Is it much different from metal frames?

A bit. You can't use a paint stripper or sandblast it, but if you treat it like fiberglass your fine. Just sand it by hand and paint over it. Be a bit careful with the clear coat.

I bought something to sell on eBay, didn't mention anything about it here, and am now being dragged through the dirt for it. There are still lots to go around at RRP if you're desperate to represent, so not sure quite what the issue is. Not all of us are lawyers with Cervelos and Colnagos. Legitimately, privately, making a little profit (God forbid) - and away from LFGSS - is not a crime. I don't exactly run a Rapha re-selling business. Also, see the irony calling me a "profiteer" and defending a brand which is sponsored by Sky, and therefore links to News Corp, Murdoch, The Sun newspaper, and the Convervative Party, and all their crooked capitalist and illegal dealings. Just ease off and go about your business.

Calling something a limited edition, when it is not, in order to increase its perceived value is a fraud and an act of deception. I don't give a monkey's - more fool the idiot who buys it at that price - but it was you who asked 'why the hate'. I was merely suggesting an answer, albeit a fairly obvious one. 2. After spending some hours of my personal time searching last night, I found the personal details of a criminal and sent them to an LFGSS user - and complete stranger - who had their bike stuff stolen - Who cares apart from him? Nobody.
