For sale: Serotta Atlanta 56x56

  • My Serotta is up for sale - I have absolutely loved this frame but I just don't have room (or budget) for it at the moment as I've just taken delivery a shiny new canyon frame. It comes with a time carbon fork and cane creek headset.

I was looking to get back what I paid for it (£420) but infuriatingly I dented the top tube last week. Although very annoying it looks to be just cosmetic. Revised price of £380 or £400 w/ ultegra BB and 3T 110 -17 stem.

I can take a few more pics if need be - give me a shout.

  • What a beauty! If I didn't have a colnago master that's screaming at me to be restored, I'd be over that like a rash.

  • Any chance I can buy the stem off you separately?

  • If you fancy selling complete, PM me!

Matching Ti and Steel Serottas is something which needs to be done.

  • Afraid the rest of the parts are now on my Canyon.

  • Booooo! This was a fantastic build.

  • Bump with some pictures and a some more information:

The Atlanta was Serotta's second tier frameset from the mid to late 90s. I think this frame is from around 1997 but its hard to be exact as the Serotta serial numbers are not date specific (they are just sequential). For info the serial number on mine AS 56 866 (Atlanta, size 56, 866th produced).

The tubes are the Reynolds Colorado Concept tubing which were propriety to Serotta. The down tube is swaged which means it gets larger towards the bottom bracket for extra stiffness.

The paint is a pearlescent white which is quite hard to capture with my limited photography skills. You can certainly tell that the frame has been used - there are a number of marks and scratches (some of which have been touched up by a previous owner). It is coming up on 20 years old though so its not doing badly. Its all straight and true - the only damage of note is the dent on the top tube mentioned above.

I used this as my Sunday best and race bike whilst I had it. It's a combines a remarkable combination of stiffness and comfort - in fact I think it's probably much more comfortable than the Canyon I am replacing it with.

  • Price drop to £380 with the extra bits or £360 without

  • Saw this in the flesh at Crystal Palace crits a few weeks ago. A lovely frame.

  • Quite nice.
Anybody knows how does it compare with Serotta CSI?

  • Shame about the dent, this was my favourite forum build. GLWS!

  • Is this the original fork? I'm looking to get some Time carbon forks for my Merckx

    GLWS

  • No - it would have originally come with a steel Serotta or Carbon fork.

The Carbon forks in particular are very hard to come by - I've been on the lookout since I have owned the frame.

  • I've not ridden a CSI so can't make a direct comparison. The CSI was made with the C4 tubeset whilst the Atlanta was made with the C3 tubeset. The primary difference between the two is that the CSI has more swaged tubes.

  • What's the frameset weight?

  • I've not measured it on anything more accurate than a bathroom scale. Circa 2500g for frame, fork and headset.

  • Final price drop before Ebay...

£350 for the frameset and I'll include the rest of the bits for free

  • pm'd

  • Would U like to sell a front wheel?

  • final check that no one is interested before I put this on ebay?
