The regular shift levers let you shift from the drops. These satellite sprint shifters... you use these with your thumbs?

  • I have mine a smidge high. So I can reach them with my little fingers from the tops.

In the drops you can use the regular shifters yes. I can reach mine even with my hands quite low. Because I have the rearmost levers shifting the rear mech. So I only need a finger tip to move up and down the cassette. Still feels nicer using your thumb though.

But when you're in a less aggressive, cruising, position. More towards the ends of the drops. Thats when the sprint shifters really shine.

On mondays 70km race I reckon I did 90% of my shifting with them.

But then my current set-up isnt really a great hoods riding set-up. They feel a bit high to me.

Feck. Forgot to use the term cockpit.....

  • A nice way of making Di2 feel a little more Campagnolo-like.

  • Exactly that.

But for me, the genius of Di2 is being able to customise the shifters. So you can have the big rear paddles shifting the rear mech up and Down. Leaving the front shifting to the smaller button.

As I said above this means you can shift up and Down from more positions. But it also means you shift easier With thick gloves. Or as I had the misfortune to test. While racing in a tight Group With fingers so frozen you cant striaghten them (I was literally giving the shifters a light punch With my balled up hands).

Everyone that sees this shifter set-up thinks I'm stupid. But it Works perfectly for me.

I would honestly like to hate Di2, and get my Campagnolo back. But its such a well thought out piece of kit.

  • You would also use the five port junction box if you wished to use a climbing/pave shifter with R-785 levers as they only have a single port per shifter.

  • Due to a freak 'eggy' on my front tyre. I put my aero wheels on over the weekend. So much smoother and stiffer. Just compliments the ride of bike perfectly. The veiwspeed skewers work well too.
Just want a stem that hides the junction box.

    (now has black bartape too)

  • Are you the batman?

  • Building a roadbike batman would ride, was the main focus.

    I'm not even kidding.

That saddle angle is all wrong. Adjusting it is a soul destroying operation. As much as the seatpost is amazing in terms of performance. It's a bitch to live with.

  • nice DS shot

    Halfway there ;-)

  • There was this big bright sphere in the sky. Can't recall seeing it before. Ruined the photo.

  • big bright sphere in the sky

    That's no moon......

  • Wow. That looked far less fecked on my phone.

    Weird.

    Still totally washed out though.

  • I must be bored, but here, have some levels :)

  • dem bottles

  • The bottles suit the bike perfectly. Which is to say they are ugly but purposeful looking.

They hold 500ml, and work well in a small frame.

The downside is that they are black. So if I am ever Lucky enough to see some sun. I have to drink luke warm drink.

During my last tri they were out in the sun for hours at T1. It was so grim I may lay some foil over them NeXT time.

  • But they dont match! Theyre a different weave!

Although wrapping them in foil sounds funny so keep them and take a picture. Sandwich delivery.

  • Just want a stem that hides the junction box.

Have you any plan about getting something like the Canyon integrated system that hide the junction box?

Or wait for Di2 to go wireless?

  • Hmmmmmm. Aero/racing wheels.

  • I have a pricey enve clip on set up for tris now.
So I'm sold on the enve bars.
    They are also awesome.

Looking for a clever stem still though. That a borrowed stem on the bike.

  • 27mm at 145psi

    ¿que? ♥

  • Faster?

Just wanted the tyre as big as possible.

Bit worried about gluing it unevenly.

  • ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FIVE PSI?

What would Ed say? Let alone Ed, what would the tyre manufacturers say!!!

(also they're green. They need to be black)
