Good point that! You can turn the beeping off. But I figured it's not very good for the device to have power then no power constantly too it. So yeah battery good idea there as who cares if you kill a battery but don't want to kill the battery in your device.
I need to unplug the device when I go under 6.5mph as that's where I lose power from the Dynamo to charge.
Yeah, if you're on a road bike, the current is constant enough that the garmin wont complain about losing external power and beeping, but on a mountain bike, it beeps all the fucking time as you dip below 10mph. So a cache battery is pretty important.
