So how about Wednesday 10/06/15, set off from Wellington Street around 6pm, head up Cemetary Road, Psalter Lane, over Ringinglow and under Stannage Edge to the Yorkshire Bridge Inn and pick up the A57 at Ladybower. Chips and beer in Glossop of we can get that far and head back keeping an eye on last orders as we pass the Snake Inn, Ladybower Inn and Strines Inn.
Weather dependent because with it being closed for two weeks it would seem silly to head out in the pouring rain.
Geeb, I understand that the works are all happening on the Glossop side so, if the worst comes to it, and you can't get past you could feasibly ride/push down the Doctor's Gate bridle path into Glossop. Shouldn't take too long.
