@M_A_X I know! Innit! Who doesn't want a brake light? It uses sudden drops in power output (i.e. braking) to trigger a increase in light output from its stored energy. Damned clever Germans.

I have that back light in combination with the b + M luxus iq2 front light powered by a son dynamo. It is a great bit of kit. Although you never get to see the rear light doing it's thing when you brake

I have a SON28 and run a mudguard-mounted B&M Seculight off it as well as the front light.
It's lovely to know the light's always there (until it falls off).The main problem I've encountered is when I've just parked my bike and the standlight's still shining and another cyclist thinks he's doing me a favour by walking over and trying to switch it off using a non-existent switch.

Ha. Yes. I've actually run into problems trying to get on trains and platform staff being funny about the standlight on my rear B&M which isn't switch off-able.

Right, on a serious note, the bloke I chatted to during the 600 was using a dyno hub to power his lights and electronics. Should I do the same thing for PBP?
I own an Exposure Six Pack which might last the two nights (1200k)?

I'm getting a new set of wheels built anyway so slipping a dyno in would cost me the front hub and the phone adapters but how much would it slow me down? Would it actually power all my shit?
Could I recharge the Six Pack using the dynamo or is it better to use specific dynamo lights?
According to this I'd be adding a couple of watts with lights off and 8 or so with lights on. But what about charging stuff? Can it be used to trickle charge an external battery and then released for lighting or GPS?

I'm running a dynamo.
Best choice ever. Charge all my stuff. Will charge a garmin full in 1h30.
I lose about 4watts with the Dynamo running.

My shutter precision disc wheel has just arrived from CNC bikes in germany. It's much better looking than my old shimano one. Also pretty cheap compared to buying it here.

I've already bought Ultegra hubs but I reckon a dynamo is sounding like a good option for the longer rides - 600k+ -

2) Isn't a dynamo draggy? Well, Please excuse the maths, but if you rode at 20mph for an hour the light would pull about 6W from your legs during this time, this is equivalent to approximately 5.2kcal. There are approximately 72kcal in a McVites Digestive biscuit, enough to power your light for just under 14hrs and that's assuming you pedal down the hills and around every corner! So yes, it does draw a tiny bit of power, but I certainly can't tell the difference and it's a damn good excuse to eat an extra biscuit every few rides ;-)
I use my Revo on and off road, couldn't be happier! Plug-in RedEye rear light is awesome too, no pissing around with batteries. Believe there may be some sneaky prototype Revos with USB-out knocking around, would simplify the charging side of things, at the moment you'd need some other device connected/wired in - Sinewave Revolution, Cinq Plug etc.
Saying that, Mike Hall did TransAm with a 6pack and Joystick as cache-battery, depends how long you're planning on stopping/if you get chance to top up power along the way...
Delux is slightly less power, fine for led lights at cruising speed but you probably want the extra juice that a 28 gives for a USB charger.
