without something like that, and without someone willing to devise and then lead regular rides in a more official manner, it's always going to be too nebulous to be successful.
I was hoping that the flexibility of Ringland loop ( start times ) would help with this a bit, but unfortunately, I'm not in Norwich on a regular enough basis to keep it going :-/

not sure I'm ready to go "full roadie douche" just yet!?
No half measures!

Very close to clicking the button on Iceni Velo based on them heading out by 8am on a Sunday leaving me the afternoon to do non-cycling related activities with the wife...#euphnotintended

Don't be daft. There's no such thing as 8am on a Sunday morning.
-
• #381
Haha, I actually prefer to get out and ride that early - one full day per fortnight off with Mrs H so spending the majority of it out on the bike is unwise!
-
• #382
How chilled is chilled? May join you in a few months
-
• #383
If I'm leading, then super chilled. We're all about being casual at the CCC; winners aren't welcome.

• #384
winners aren't welcome.
Damn, that's me out then
-
• #385
Ha, gutted.
-
• #386
If the rides involve a hill then I'm not gonna be a winner!!

• #387
Tonight's little ride
-
• #388
Friday rides sounds good. Unfortunately i work sundays so i can't make any of them ha
-
• #389
Going for this route tonight with someone from work, looking forward to it!
-
• #390
Are your 'work fwends' up for group riding? Or are they all total beginners?
-
• #391
I'd imagine they'd be up for it, it's only one or two people at the moment but Chris who I'm riding with tonight wants to get into it - only trouble being is that from work is really the only option as he lives in Dereham

.
Mobile scales down images!
-
• #393
Maybe throw it out there as a suggestion? My only thought being that new people might be more keen!

Would a less regular ride to somewhere in particular make a difference? Say fortnightly/monthly ride to a pub/activity? Make a day out of it; I can never really see myself getting in to riding for the sake of it, I'd certainly be more up for rides if we were doing something else as well
-
• #395
Perhaps, but I think setting aside an entire day for riding is much more difficult for some than it is for others.
I like the idea of a short ride, every week through summer, that gets people together just for the joy of doing it. I can't be bothered riding seriously any more, so I need to get out regularly in order to keep a base level of fitness, and doing it on your own gets a bit dull.

'Serious' riding is something I've never been interested in so we're off to a good start there aha; I don't mean an entire day of riding necessarily, even if its just stopping for a beer/picnic or something along the way it's far more (personally) intriguing than road riding at pace for a few hours
-
• #397
Sounds like @invertedcriss will be joining the ride this evening, if anyone else fancies it we'll be leaving from Land Rover on Cromer Road just after 6pm
-
• #398
Good ride last night, thanks @hudsoncjnr
I'd be keen on the Woodfordes Brewery ride that was mentioned in the past. Would that meet your requirements @Rikki?

Was good fun and my legs feel pretty good so far today!
-
• #400
I guess so!
^ That would be good
I have considered VCN or similar but I'm not sure I'm ready to go "full roadie douche" just yet!?
