Best cyclocross bike under £1000 and other CX chat

I've got a wich bike question; Jamis Nova Race with Tiagra or Cannondale CaadX Sora? How good is the frame on the Jamis compared to the CaadX?

Whichever fit you best.

Cannondale are awesome but you'd need to spend a bit more to get it perfect (new cable housing for one).

Anyone tried or have experience with the a Specialized Crux?

Just sold mine lovely bikes, very comfy, my mate has 4 now and he rates them.

Mate in a spesh shop who has the choice of all their range only buys the crux. he has a stybar ltd in a 49 still for sale.

Probably the most popular bike in our local league. Very well thought of, but the sizing is a little odd so probably best to test ride first before laying down any money.

@andyp - thanks for the info. Do they run a tad large like the CAADX?

Freeborn cycles carries them which is near me, I'll see if they have one built up to test.

I believe so, yes. A friend struggled to find one with a lowish head tube, he likes to ride a bike that is set up long and low.

It has very good reviews. US Raleigh are a different beast to how the UK brand is perceived.

There is a Raleigh outlet store in Nottingham. I heard they did fairlyngoods prices on those cross bikes.

Ok so I've already disagreed with amey on the BMC thread about this, but here goes. I'm gonna buy a go anywhere Alu framed bike and CXs look like a strong bet. So far I've tried a BMC GF02 and a CAADX 105 am I missing a trick here?
