While on subject of words - being non-English there are of course many phrases and words to confuse me, but lately I'm intrigued by 'cordial'. I understand it can mean a concentrate to be mixed with water (squash), a liquor (what kind?) or an attitude (yours cordially). From where is the word derived? The different meanings seem totally unconnected?
