Totally agree.
I currently plan my rides purely to suit my training needs and avoid traffic. Yet I am constantly blown away by the beauty of the aera. How did they manage it?Theres a MAMIL multi stage sportive that takes in most of my favourate Climbs and rides. I can only imagine the pro teams found it too pricey (it really is).

In other news, the Tour of Norway seems to run trough the decidedly most boring landscape the country has to offer.
Any of @Smallfurry 's weekend rides beats this by a mile.
