Not sure if this has been posted already, but one of the better ideas so far I'd say.

Surely it's only a matter of time...

There are some nice ideas here, but while I hate to rain on your parade most of the ideas suggested here are illegal.
The CAA rules say you can't fly drones over 'congested areas' (streets, towns, cities) or within 50 metres of a building or a road. Or over groups of people at any height.
More info here:

One of my mates has one, certain parts of the city are being made no fly zones and the drones physically will not take off in those areas. Some kind of signal blocker I imagine.

There's a big diy scene with drones, mostly based on Arduino and none of those have the no-fly zones pre-programmed like the off the shelf ones such as DGI etc.

@Clockwise he blew the majority of his student loan buying the thing. I doubt he could afford to even if he did for some reason have the inclination to record his drone recording something else.
Yo dawg etc -

thats pretty impressive
is it all programmed or is it an operator flying it -

Given the number of
pillocksintrepid entrepreneurs and valued amateur enthusiasts twatting around with these things, completely oblivious to their responsibilities I may be pissing in the wind here, but PLEASE read this before you start:UK law hasn't really caught up with drone filming.
Actually, it's pretty clear. It's just widely ignored, despite some fairly high profile prosecutions.

You could get 2 drones and then have them deliver a cup of tea or coffee to people, call it 2drones1cup or something.

I expect drones will mostly continue to be used in their current format which is blindly killing people abroad from an air conditioned desk in Nevada.

That's a very nice design but it lacks obstacle avoidance.
refine that to haircutting drones
done at your desk while you work
