Just bought a Knight Flat Track frame....custom, nickel -plated chromoly loveliness. Dead cool. Currently set up for a Rotax donk but I'd like to stick a late 70s YZ250 lump in there instead. This one is Ex 250GP and WSB Champ John Kocinski's - it's got a 250 honda instead but you get the idea....

YES.
You haven't got enough half built 2 stroke 250 race bikes littering your house already?

One of these would be nice, but I am not brave enough to buy 1970s Italian metal. I learned my lesson with the Vespa, and there's barely anything to go wrong on one of them! And I've kind of got over my clip-ons phase and want a nice sit-up machine. So if I do buy one, the new one is what I shall buy.

Haha -nah, they're pretty much all working now. My old race bike still needs doing , but the parts are SO INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE and tough to find that it might never happen. This one (hopefully) shouldn't take long to get to fruition. Provided I can find the right engine. And aircooled, dirtbikes seem to have become a thing in the last year so that might be trickier than I thought....doh!

Engine frame and tank from the 70's and the suspension, wheels and brakes from a later bike. Job Jobbed.
I know the stelvio had head/valve issues and there was an issue with the oil filters on some of the 1000. But they are fucking awesome.

Ducati 1200cc… I like it too, but I prefer $75,000 in my pockets.
Apart not being sure how much of that 1200cc would I deliver on the ground…

We should distinguish between balls and skills.
You need both for motorbikes, and I see a lots of balls around, you can tell from how they start from a traffic light and how they accelerate on the city roads.
But I'm afraid much less skilled ones, how I can tell?
Because I can read the geography on the surface of the tyres, how much cornering and how much weight has been delivered on it.Then what it is a real sporty motorbike and the real specs of it would be a bit too long for now.

£60,000 worth of supabike!
Plus whatevs they paid for DSC custom which I reckon would be close to £5k +
Hmmm...Dad has a Street Triple so perhaps a Spped or Street may be the answer
