I can point you to the best kebab joint in Heidelberg. I lived there briefly.
And if you're after yoghurt, Land Liebe vanilla is good!
kartoffelpuffer with applesauce to destroy your arteries.
Dampfnudel with custard.

There's so much good food in Berlin.
Cafe Butter on Pappelallee does a great brunch buffet if you're there at a weekend. Most of my other recommendations would be for dirt cheap Turkish or Arabic food, which Berlin does brilliantly.

Great vietnamese called royals and rice i think on Torstrasse in Berlin. Also Spindler in Kreuzberg for michelin level food but normal prices.

Don't mind a bit of Slater, I like his Thai green curry recipe and the lemon grass chicken which is served in lettuce leaves. Deffo a gap for a Thai book, will read up on Mr Thompson thanks.
What about BBq literature, Pitt Cue & Co book?
Also had an Indian night in yesterday, Mint and Lemon Chicken curry, Sag Paneer, Goan style Dal (red lentils, turmeric, mustard/cumin seeds, tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger), Chapatis. Enough for three meals!

looks like I'm going to be spending some weekends in Germany working, any foods/dishes I should be looking to eat, apart from schnitzel and wurst.
Also anywhere I can get a decent pint of cider...
