is there anywhere I can take my speedplays in London that will replace the bearings? I already have the bearing kit.

I did mine at lmnh on old street.

Should I be concerned about the amount of wear on the metal plate themselves on my right pedal, as I was riding them till recently with no issues in clipping in and out.

Should i replace the body or just the plate themselves?

I thought the rocking came from the plastic wearing not the metal. So I'd say they were fine. Metal plates are cheap on T'Bay though.

I've taken the plunge, and ordered some well priced chromo zeros, and some Ti bits to bring the weight Down. I seem to be frequently injured of late, and my old Beebops used to be kind to injured legs. So I figured I'd give them a try.

I was very tempted to get the Pave Version. I frequently have issues cliping into my keywins due to steping Down into snow, and I wondered if they'd last longer before developing a rock, being all metal. But the Paves cost a shit load more. Seemed overkill.

I'm also tempted to get some NW shoes. Partly because I have several already that fit real Nice, and partly because their speedplay adaptor looks very nice. Anyone using some?

Not sure about top-of-the-range Northwaves, but it's impossible to use the Speedplay adaptor on their mid-range shoes - Torpedos, for example - despite NW's claim that you can, because there's no cut-out in the footbed.

I use NW sonic (ones with top ratchet type strap) no problem with version one and now version two speedplay cleats. pretty sure the cleats come with any of the shims/attachments you need

I've got extreme 3s' and use the adaptors, works like a dream, the adaptor kind of creates the flattened bit that a speedplay specific sole would have and so you don't get the problems I'd imagine you would with their normal 3 bolt adaptors

@valente be careful, the cutout isn't actually cutout yet on any of them, it's a common critiscism in the reviews but I can see why they do it, get a small torch and a knife and have a look and you'll find it

I made some new base plates out of Stainless steel, they have been going for years on my winter training boots. Speedplay Zero's
The alloy ones get chewed up after a while.
I may be able to get a batch of these made if people are interested?
Otherwise you can have the drawing and get your own made.

I have those spindles on the way. Plus ti faceplates. Because....matchy matchy, weenie weenie.

My Ti bike has a real yellowy tinge which I like. Thought the same might be true of the spindles and faceplate. But cant actually defend the purchase With any actual Logic. Bet they last minutes in use.

faceplates? I might get them as consumables rather than weenie-ism .. these plates are on their way out.
