How many cats do you have? Do you have a third cat after the headers merge (before the exhaust splits for the separate cats/exits)?
If it were running rich / lean then the pre cat sensors would pick it up.

Had a quick look at some diagrams. Looks like jus 2 cats then 2 back boxes then the merge for the single exhaust tip.
Cats could be in the way out or could have been replaced with sports cats (or even removed...) which would likely trigger a post cat o2 error.

Mine is completely stock, so it has 2 cats going into a single backbox (with a funky stacked exhaust tip.)
Looking at service history, both bank 2 sensors were replaced 5 years and 10,000 miles ago. Both bank 1 would appear to be originals which would make them 6 years and 50,000 miles older. Hence it doesn't make sense for them both to fail at the same time.
Oh well, we'll see. If it is the sensors, that's cheap. If it is the cats that's fucking expensive.

Look at the tow regulations, stuff like tow ball weight and gross train weight.
How can a Landie tow 3.5tonne (legally) with a gross train wieght of 7000lbs? (130 by the way)

I meant comparing two cars of similar age and their costs new.

Oh god, the noise! The slides! The vintage paint schemes, and fat balloon tyres :-)
Fantastic. And how nice does that dolly sprint sound at full chat too? -

Changed the relay today, going to pull it apart and check the two big capacitors in there later.
Fingers crossed that this is it.

over the last 36 hours since picking up the landie we've driven over 200 miles. 120 cruising on motorway, 100'ish around Kentish countryside. She hasn't missed a beat! A cold start this morning, fired first time. We've had two friends in the know look her over and have confirmed she's in a fine condition. Now back in London we need to find a capable mechanic for any issues that may arise. Any recommendations? She'll be garaged in Southfields but used mostly in the Peckham/Dulwich area. @lynx @hudsoncjnr

Super nice !
Is it weird that that pretty much exact configuration is on my list of dream cars ? -

No :-)
Any successes to report with your fuel pump relay?

It's replaced, the car fired on the first turn of the starter - but I've not got it "proper hot" in traffic to find out if that was the culprit yet.

Go on the Landie forums and see who they say is good. Cold start is when there is a thick frost, or snow and at least 24 hours of minus temperature that doesn't happen in London.
It is do able yourself if you have the time and off road parking.

Found a gorge blue Porsche 912 parked up in Alfama, Lisbon, nice patina, rough honest interior, in my fantasies its some old codgers who'd sell it to me for 5 grand

That air compressor arrived - got one (1) tyre from 28 to 34 PSI and then conked out.
Totally dead it would seem.

should have got bq's one..
If the engine was running lean or rich then both sensors might show a fault? i.e. what you are seeing is over-fuelling, resulting in codes for both sensors.
