They won't need to, EQS' main aim for this stage is to get Cav the win, according to Alaphillipe anyway, that may have changed though what with the Sagan situation.
They basically need to decide: Stage for Cav or risk that a break will stay away and gift Alaphillipe the win, I don't think a break will, as there's another three teams who will chase
Cheers, watching it now, Cav took the intermediate for 5 seconds, then Sag's second by a whisker for 3 seconds and Alaphillipe for 1 second.
So Alaphillipe holds the lead by 0.7 seconds and Sagan just needs to finish on the podium to win, watch him lock onto Cav's wheel now
