Yep, crown race is 27 and fork takes 26.4, hence it's loose and rattling.
Manager at lbs confirmed that fork is fine, it was just a newb thought it was too short.

The internet told you to.

Theyre road ones. Look and handle exactly the same but overlap is slightly less (still bad with 175 cranks and 25s)

Bottle cage on downtube look a little too close to the seat tube one.

You're preaching to the choir, I've got all the woundups. My point was that the MAX forks were plenty rad already .

somebody (on here I think) offered a race that was milled down on the underside to lessen the gap. problem is if you take off to much the cup will bind on the fork.
I just painted the race black with a pen so it wasn't so obvious. -

Mine is really noticeable. Read something somewhere about some FSA races being compatible and thinner, got an FSA one I'm going to try once my race removal tool arrives, but just researching for when that inevitably doesn't work out.

Picked up first roadie a few weeks ago! rides well, great fit! needs a bit of loving as its been sitting in a shed for the last few years.
First thing on the list take apart, clean, degrease parts, replace cables.
