8'x4' shuttering ply mostly. Some of it is MDF. We used a general weather proof paint. Joe can let you know which brand, i cant remember to be fair. Not that it would have made much difference to the damage caused by the wind. But painting them before construction is a better option. We wanted to but could not schedule it that way.

It was water based fence paint from Tool Station or Screwfix, can't remember which... I'd avoid that chipboard type stuff and get marine ply or concrete shuttering, no need to worry about the weather then...
The Brisbane kids used second hand shuttering for the removable side at their old court, three years old and still looks good as new... And this is Queensland, mad amounts of tropical heat, humidity and rain...

Morning, dubkev here.
18 panels are going to be delivered to HH today. @punkture is going to take the delivery at HH, the panels are going to be left near one of the shipping containers, wherever there is space.
Is anyone free tomorrow Sunday for some lifting and rebuilding? I can do 9:30am to 11:30am, might be able to negotiate it until midday.
First part will involve lifting the panels into the centre track, second bit will involve rebuilding the supports into the new panels and the stanchions, third bit hanging back up the net.
The panels are 18mm with a black plastic film surface on them, which looks pretty good in terms of waterproofing, I don't think we will have to do much with them. They are recycled from a housing development building site exterior panelling in Woolwich, some of them have text on them, might be something like Barratt Homes.
If people are free tomorrow to rebuild that would be great. Even if someone is free in the morning to help me lift the new panels into the centre area that would be a good start on the work.

Hey, im gonna get the panels from the guy at HH at 2ish.
If anyone wants to get there then, we could try and move the panels to the centre of the track so when people do stuff on Sunday they will already be there...

Don't reuse screws it's not worth the headache.

I'm going to get 6mm diameter by 90mm or 100mm length unless anyone says different...
-
• #1636
100mm is very long, I'd go for something around 60mm-70mm. Don't want the screw ends poking through...

Cheers ed. Got a box of 50s and a box of 75s, that was all they had in bulk.

The new boards are at HH, leaning up next to the old shipping containers in the car park. They look good too, good work kev

Just left you a voicemail! Thanks for waiting for the delivery, really appreciate you putting in your time to wait for the truck. Beers your way soon.
Does anyone even want to do a 10am start if nine is a bit harsh? We can bring the boards over in the centre with the delivery trolley, and set them up a bit...

Me and Tim are going down there tomorrow evening (Monday) after work, if anyone else can help.

• #1641
I can help after work. What time are you there for?
-
• #1643
I could make it for 6.30ish though I have very few tools and am a liability with any that I do have
-
• #1644
No pressure Ben, you waited for a long while yesterday. But if you can come and even lift the boards into place, that'd be great, me and Nesbit could get the drilling started.

• #1645
6.30 should be fine, provided work doesn't throw me any curve balls. I've got a drill, what else do we need?
-
• #1646
cool, ill see you there 6.30ish, maybe earlier if i can leave work at 5.30 on the dot
-
• #1648
I'll be there around 6:30/7pm, will bring a drill.

Hey guys I am not going to be around Monday night to help. I am not sure whether you will need the key but I will leave them on the stoli orange bottle behind the bar.
It was just cuprinol fence paint IIRC.
Depending on your funds there are a number of things you can do, discussed in either this thread I think?
We haven't tried it yet but looking into edging the boards with something waterproof might massively extend the life of OSB as this is where water gets into where paint hasn't and also sits in the wood (which especially isn't great in winter with frost).
