  • I'm just adding weight to the 'for' camp. ;)

  • Love Sam's bike! No pink for me I'm afraid, I think I'll just be boring and go black or raw

  • Compromise, black metal flake? :D

  • Over raw? Can't say I've seen that before

  • I meant black with metal flake, like gold or blue flake. You could try it over raw, I guess!

  • Ah my bad, I narrowed in on 'compromise'! Not sure I could have a metal flaked frame that wasn't NJS

  • Of course you can!

  • Its just not the same!

  • Tempted to strip the frame and clear lacquer it myself

  • Changed the saddle and post on the Focale as well as the chainring (back to 46t), chain and the chunky grips; it looks and feels much better now. I've also realised that my noob problems with SPD's aren't so much getting out of them as it is getting in, seems to be a lot of slipping about and wobbly starts as I try and locate the cleat. (#euph?)

    still undecided on the paint

  • +1 for sparkles. How are the old grips? After some cheapo ones

  • I really like the idea of black sparkles too, or grey?

  • No sparkles, no fades, no fancy paint at all for this build I'm afraid!

@TomvanHalen they're Ourys Tom buy I'm holding on to them for another build

  • No worries! Had a pair before, not a fan

  • Me neither, bit too chunky

  • Yesterday I..Went for a cruise around Snetterton race track. Anyone else do it? Did see a few fixed riders!

  • Today I'm getting drunk with cheap local beer. Last three days being drunk while also killing myself with the rides, legs are literally pulsating, time for some Omega 3s, gulp...

  • ...I went off road for the first time in years. I'd forgotten how much fun it is and there was only one near death stacking incident. Result.

  • Spur of the moment decision to cycle up mouseholds hill (gurney?) this evening after the gig, did it. Pretty stoked on it, did it fixed too, i imagine it would be loads easier geared hah

  • well done chap. Next: gas hill. Then: alpe d'huez.

  • Good job @bengreen I remember thinking it sucked the first time I dragged myself up there too, but I just kept doing it and now it's ok - climbs are sooo much easier when you know what's coming.

On a similar note, I tackled that really steep bit off the side of the Ringland loop the other day @BareNecessities and it was expectedly horrible. I was probaly down to about 30rpm. All the slow-twitch anaerobic gains though!

  • I love slow twitch anaerobic gains.

  • I just love gains...

  • I love twitching...
