Yeah, add waypoints using Basecamp or one of the other GPX editors. Not using the map screen is meant to save power. I dim my unit and use extended battery pack. Not sure how this is going to work for the 600k tomorrow. I reckon I might lose power before I finish.

I don't know what the 800 is like, but with my 1000 one of those lipstick sized external batteries pretty much gives me another 8 hours

As I guess this is through the blue egg turn the brightness down and you will we fine with cadence and navigating. If not you are either lost or your battery needs replacing.

Ludwig, hippy and other audaxers .. best approach with edge 800 for an audax? Any way to add some sort of markers where controls are? Dont want to waste time. Battery saving tips?
