Oh really? A confirmed Fascist was he?
Coppi's war seemed mostly sort of kind of ok - he avoided the worst of the fighting by being Coppi, and had a smother time as a POW because one of the camp commanders was a cycling fan and got him training again. I think I've remembered that right.

Like all events in Italy, there are many versions of who did what, but Magni was part of a Fascist militia that were responsible for the massacre of Valibona.
