  • Just spotted the infamous Super High Stack Courier Bloke at speed on Tooley Street

  • @Antidotes on his new Duratec in Elephant

  • A cheery hello to @skydancer just as I was heading toward St.Pauls about half 5, was running late to meet a chum, good to see you Squire

  • Guy on a black Condor doing laps of Regents with a skull tattoo, was desperately trying to keep up on the pink Colnago.

  • Indeed good seeing you old chap. Was heading south. Perhaps see you at easts next week

  • Fixed or SS TTer out in Walton Reservoirs this eve. Mixed it up for a bit... Some cycle club me thinks...

  • Huh! Yup, nothing but seat post on a 60cm frame... I'm nothing but legs.

  • Good to see and roll with you @goonz this morning!

  • The one who chews gum and rides like an absolute fucking maniac? I've seen some risky riders on the streets but this guy literally rides into oncoming/sideways traffic and just seems to survive by making blind weaving turns. I've never been able to work it out

  • a possible @hanrob_ doing the diagonal across Bricklayers this AM?

  • Ah I missed you man, give me a shout next time!

  • Yeah that sounds about right. First time I saw him was weaving right across the road and up onto a kerb

  • Yep same, I was cycling down Rye Lane at rush hour (don't know if you know it) and it ends at a junction with the main road. He literally blazed straight forward and made three of the most nonchalantly death-humouring manoeuvres I've ever seen and was straight up the kerb on the other side. I was speechless

  • Just cycling up or down rye lane at any time is fun, isn't it? I've never known a road like it for people just blindly walking across the road without looking. It's worse even than Dalston Kingsland.

  • Walking in the middle of the road is an old South London pastime, I think. I go up Rye Lane every day and have just taken to treating it as some kind of advanced bike handling test

  • Haha, the rye lane bike path is a thing of daily consternation. Even if I had a bell, it wouldn't help. The blank stares you get from people is wonderful.

  • I actually enjoy the 'rule of the jungle' feel of riding through Rye Lane or Deptford High Street.. much better that self-righteous rage you get from 'law abiding' people

  • Rye Lane's guaranteed to keep you on your toes. One day it's a lorry full of goat carcasses, the next it's a dude in a blacked out Mercedes coming to an abrupt, un-indicated stop to cat call a girl. Most interesting part of my commute.

  • It's a splendid part of London. Winds me up at times, but I loved it as soon as I moved down that way.

  • Hi! Trying out a new gearing, legs were not thanking me today.

  • did you have your cycle ps cap on? i spotted it when i was on the other side of bricklayers - morning!

  • Since there's almost no parking along there, it's not really a problem. You can see them. It's the buggers who pop out between cars, on streets where that parking is allowed, who are more lethal.

  • the "cycle lane" at the northern end that pedestrians walk in/on/over all the time ends me. but you're right, the lack of parking does mean that you mostly just breeze down it

  • that's the jobby, might give a shout next time.

  • There's a lot of walking out from behind / between buses, mind you.

There is some sort of parallel 'route' involving Bellenden Road, but alas I am too stupid to work out the one way system round there. I tried using it once and ended up in Dulwich
