Being more aerodynamic than Mavics is hardly difficult though
Cosmic Carbone with steel spokes is actually pretty good, and millions of World/Olympic championships have been won on Comete/Io. It's unfair to tarnish everything Mavic does with the Ksyrium brush.

anyone heard any more from Flo?
realise they have said wheels will ship by first May but wondering if they let you know if they get them out the door earlier or if they just email everyone at once with tracking numbers etc.?
Getting slightly nervous about them getting here for the 21st May...

email jon(at)flocycling.com, they're pretty prompt with replies.

I'm after another set of decals for my Flo's, if anyone's placing an order soon and would be up for helping me save on shipping it'd be much appreciated

wooo they've shipped!
hoping for a prevailing trade wind to get them here by next weekend!

Looking to buy some tyres for my flo30s, and although i can see they were tested with 23mm GP4000s I can't help thinking that 25s would ride better. Anyone have a pair of 30s who can volunteer any thoughts? I'll probably be going for open pave CG IIIs.

What weight are you on? What's ur expected average speed?
-
• #184
My weight is probably around 75kg, not sure though... as for expected speed, I have no idea (I don't have a cycle computer). Normal?
-

as for expected speed, I have no idea
In that case, get the comfy tyres, you're obviously not bothered by whether the 0.5W of lower rolling resistance will be wiped out by 0.6W of extra aero drag once you get past 26.341mph

That is a fair response. I am much more bothered about what feels better to ride than areos. Ta

my wheels seem to have fallen into a black hole, the USPS tracking site says they arrived in the UK on Sunday, and the parcel force website only has that they have been advised of an inbound shipment. (although 3 calls has resulted in 3 different answers ranging from its probably on its way to customs, its still in the backlog from the bank holiday to we cant give you any accurate information as it hasn't been handed over for some reason)
There doesn't seem to be any way of me contacting USPS without phoning them, and parcel force say as they haven't had the item handed over yet there is nothing they can do. I've sent the Flo boys an email in the hope of them being able to find out where they've gone.
Seems like the interface between USPS/Parcel force/Customs is a problematic one with a degree of regularity. I might be tempted to ask them to ship with another company if I was to make another order..

Hmm, seems mine have left Chicago and are in mid-flight. Hope they don't get too jet-lagged.

I got drunk and ordered some Flo30 rims last week and they're in London already! Absolutely no idea what I'm lacing them to yet

Pour a drink and decide later?

Reading thru the thread it seems most who have purchased, have only gone for the rims. Does anyone have experience of buying a complete wheel/set and info on how good the hubs are?
-
• #192
Mine are probably in the same state of flux as yours... Seeing that they had left the U.S. on Saturday morning gave me false hope about them arriving in time for this weekends race.
Need to remind myself it really doesn't matter, but they feel so close, yet until they've been poked about by customs there's nothing that can be done anyway!

Great chat.

I know that there has been a bit of chatter on this, but has anyone measured the ERD on the Flo30 rim? UTFS gives a few values...577.5mm now on the website, 586mm previously, to people reporting around 582mm...
-
• #196
All values could be correct, Flo changing the inner layout during time.

• #197
My rims are at customs clearance now. This is exciting.
-
• #198
Mine too. Since yesterday. Oh well, no rush.
-
• #199
Mine also...
My bike leaves for Italy on Saturday, I really need them by then....

Apparently PF customs don't process stuff on Friday so unless it gets done today I'm fucked.
Even if it does it'll have to be lucky to get them and may have to travel up to the IMC in Coventry to collect....
not blaming anyone, comms from Flo have always been helpful, USPS probably haven't done anything spectacular and in fairness PF have only had the wheels since Monday night, but if I'd known it could be this slow I would have bought something else....
Being more aerodynamic than Mavics is hardly difficult though. Most bricks manage it quite easily.
