just been reading that, to be honest I'd only want to go to Kona if I qualified, but it looks like IM actually win from this if you factor in that 100 extra starting slots means they can licence 2 more races worldwide which reportedly earns them about $1m per race, so its probably the poor saps who have been buying lottery tickets for years on the basis the more times you enter the lottery the higher your chances who lose out...
