Euro Qualifier Discussion

Slots allocations are going to be announced soon so we need to start organising a format and location.

Are there any cities that could host?

Ideas:

1. Bristol as a default? 2, large pre built courts.
   
2. Herne hill. I heard talk of two courts being built in prep for the LO.
   
3. Combined with UK Champs
   

Just do the qualifiers and uk champs together.

+1 for UK champs and qualifiers together. It makes sense. If Bristol are up for it then it's the best spot we have. Tried and tested.

Hey there, this isn't an option for the qualifiers I'm afraid, sorry about that.

It's a practical solution but so far no one has proposed hosting the UK champs. There are rumours that Canterbury may be able to host, however I think it's good to have contingencies. A separate tournament might allow for round robin too.

I'm assuming it must be a typo, as the UK value is left off, and there were 3 UK teams in the top 9

Based on the left over space and I also did the calculations, Uk has 5 auto spots (4 of the leftover (54-39 +9+2) + 1 currently showing)? @gponx correct?

haha. well funnily enough i am playing in the 'clasificatorio' which has limited spaces. We (Me Pablo and Filipa) had to play 3 others in a 'derby' game at aspirina for the right to be the team that repped BCN. we won 2 games to 1 :)

As it stands, there probably won't be a London Open this year. That isn't definite, but most probable

That would be a real disappointment though, it's probably the one I look forward to most. Hope you guys have a bit of luck and manage to get things sorted.

yeah, its a shame especially as there arent any UK tournaments any more but this year we may need to expend our (limited) resources building up our scene here in London.

I've emailed the city rep for Canterbury for an update any developments they've had.
