  • Monday night. Filtered, and pulled up behind a stop line at Hyde Park Corner. Cyclist wearing rugby kit rides up behind me, and promptly crashes into my back wheel. Apologises. I ignore him. He then asks if I can move forward so he can get past. I say no, as that would be illegal. He laughs, and asks 'you what?'. Lights change. I ride off into the distance.

Perhaps I was a bit of a dick, but it seems that there are a lot of cyclists out there who genuinely don't believe that it's against the law to run a red light......

  • Motorbikes blocking ASLs from here to eternity.

  • Red Ciocc guy swerving around douche who just decides to swing right from stationary on Farringdon green last night. Lucky.

  • x2 getting undertaken when I've stopped for a van indicating left, hope you're on the organ donor list.

  • rides up behind me, and promptly crashes into my back wheel

There's a lot of this going on at the moment. Happened to me 3 times last night. Three! Different folk each time, and only light bumps - not enough to really bother turning around over, but very annoying nonetheless.

  • Really lovely evening last night. But the shoaling. So much shoaling.

  • Ha, never heard it called that. Like it.

  • Purrrrrrfect ride in today, the 1st 16 miles were in almost complete silence, then slowly as I nearer the sprawling metropolis the noise starts ramping up from the hustle and bustle. Sun was out, sky was blue, no wind, roads and paths very quiet for some reason. A PB too, 1Hr 14Min 55Secs, Av sp 15.84mph over 19.8 miles. Lovely.

Todays commute expressed as a popular powdered 1970's dessert = Angel Delight.

  • Other half just sent me an email..

"had an argument with the most annoying cyclist today for cutting me of twice. He had the cheek to say i was overtaking him on a corner when a car was coming. No i never, there was no car coming!! and i was in front of him to begin with when entering the corne,r i had to break to let him in because he wasn't going to so (entering teh corner at teh same speed and wide!) we both went round the corner together as a result. Then i could not get in front of him because he was hogging the road and then when i did eventually and i slowed to go on the inside (filter traffic) he continued at the same pace and cut me off. i was fuming!!! so i had an argument with him. he was dressed in a florescent jacket and bag. i was thinking why? its bright outside, its the brightest its ever been this yr! what is the need for your attire???. Also i was waiting behind a lorry turning right and he was ringing his bell approaching me in the first instance so he could go up the left hand side of the lorry and get in front of me. BELL E**!! he then had the cheek to say i need to go on cycling efficency. JOKE. i told him so."

Hahaha I think she met a humpback nodder.

  • Can you ask them to use a spell checker?

  • Is a cycling efficiency course one where they teach you to spin at 100rpm and stay hydrated?

  • Can you ask them to use a spell checker?

    She's dyslexic, dick.

  • hahah!

I had another cyclist try to overtake at the same time as I was overtaking a shopper cyclist going up Blackfriars bridge.. however the cyclist on my right only managed to pull level with me and was also leaning in quite close possibly trying to force me to drop back. Accelerated instead leaving him for dust, glad he couldn't see the grin on my face as I did so =P

  • I'm in a wheelchair.

  • Maybe I was harsh, I know you're not wheelchair bound though unless you have had a nasty accident recently.

  • No, but his parents did about 40 years ago.

  • this is better than the news thread!

  • Perfect this morning. Just perfect.

  • Ate shit on Farringdon road this morning. Changed to a lower tooth count cog last night, turns out filtering is a bit difficult when you go from 48/17 to 48/13. Oopsie

  • Ouch, thats a bit of a grind to go uphill/into the wind...

  • Lots of squeaking of bikes both last night and this morning, maybe the plods of Op Safeway could hand out WD40. Am impressed with the number of people who now shoulder check and still make a move regardless of what's behind them.....

Did enjoy last nights commute, tagged along with a courier on a black fixie who I've seen before from LB to Brixton. He was getting more and more annoyed at the RLjumpers so much so that when they did stop at lights he would ask why them jumped the last set but not these, carried all the way to Brixton. Loved all the game faces when he was asking.

  • Yea, strictly a flat commute ratio. Top end speed is great, pull-off is a bit of a strain!

  • Ask your Mrs if he was on a Giant plz. The humpback.
