When there's dangerous driving is the worst time to be fannying about with a handheld camera, you need to concentrate on not being crashed into.
Sellotape a helmet mount camera to your head, it'll be fine.

Mount it on your headtube. Most will record on a loop so when the SD card is full it goes over the old video, in the event of the worst the battery will die before it goes to record over it again.

As above. Cheap dashcam up front, Fly6 out back. If I rode on the streets for a living, I'd probably have that kind of setup.

I suppose having cameras mounted front and rear would be no more messing about that putting lights on and off every time.

Fly6. Dodgy soldering.

Not wearing a helmet doesn't mean it has to go on the bike...

In fairness I initially thought these would look ridiculous - they might still, truth be told - but a quick Google for footage from the chest cam shows a surprisingly good image and wide angle, if it doesn't make you feel sick watching it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKvt2q5OzQE
Personally I am considering the camera idea myself but will probably stick it on the bars.

ah ok. good to know, thnks.
Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a compact camera or compact camcorder that I'll have on a lanyard mounted around my neck so I can reach it quickly for when I need to record a car numberplate or when there's dangerous driving.
I don't wear a helmet on my commute rides so I can't have a helmet mounted camera for this and a handlebar mounted camera (or mounted anywhere on the bike) only records one angle.
Sorry in advance If there's already a thread about this btw.
So does anyone else have this sort of camera set up. If anyone does, what camera have you got? Have you got a stills camera or a camcorder? Or are there any other suggestions?
