Hah, that would be very expensive, wouldnt mind getting Ti forks though, but hasnt seen them much recently.
@gav no,they're not chopped up, they're compact bars, they're the only bars that i find comfortable using when using the drops. Didnt even notice the tyres. Was actually thinking of black stem, tried it already but didnt match with the silver headset. Kinda looked out of place.

yeh, still looking for a less bulky looking stem, this one is just temporary
-
• #29
I think it looks rad as it is. How about a quill stem? That stem looks a tad too thick compared to HT and forks
[Edit] Didn't see all following post, but I'm with Acliff -

Long time update. I've been playing with the idea of painting the frame and sending it to @JamesNQ for a paintjob, but had to delay the idea as my initial idea for colours wasnt a good idea after all. I know a lot of people thinks that painting a Ti frame is a stupid idea but I'm just tired of seeing it in it's usual Ti colour. If I can paint it, then why not? So, what I did is to get hands on and paint the frame myself and when I get the colours I want, I'll be sending it off for a proper professional paintjob.
So first thing I did was paint the Ti stem I got metallic black.
Next thing i experimented on is the frame itself. I went for some two tone green and and black.
So this is what it looks now, got a black Chris king headset, Sram force 22, and some farsports wheels.
Still not done, feels like I'm still missing something. Will be changing the wheels sometime to something else. I apologize for the masking tape on the seatpost, forgot to remove it. Had to use that part to hold the frame in place while I rattlecanned it to death.

That looks really nice, why do you need a pro job?
-
• #38
cuz i just did this paintjob on my own and it's already flaking :p, I only used a cheap rattlecan and laquer paints
-
• #39
shame. Paint looks super nice.

Hah thanks, thats what I thought as well, but there are some thick puddles and some bubbling on some parts of the frame hence I want a pro to do the proper job. I just literally wiped the frame with a cloth without sanding or anything and started spraying.
The rattlecan I used is easily removed by using nail polish remover so I had to use lacquer on top just to hold it until I get it sent off. Might try some bumblebee paint next time, Black rear tringle and rest of the frame yellow. Fork will be yellow with black fading on the dropouts. Might be next week or sometime next month when I get the time to actually take this green paint off again.

Well, I may as well be the first to say: I preferred it Ti. It was beautiful :-/
-
• #42
still yet to here of a successful home made paint job. sigh
Yellow stuff sounds cool.
Did you paint the face plate of the stem, from what i can see you didn't? The heat anodised effect on the front looks ace.
-
• #43
Yeh, i left the front faceplate, i was just experimenting on it so I left it as it is for now.
@Olly398 heh, yeh, it was beautiful, I agree, but it felt so bare. Felt like I can do so much more than just leaving it as it is. If I cant find a paintjob i like, then I might resort back to bare Ti. But for now, paintjob experiments are afoot! -

Been playing with paints again, decided to try the serotta Ti Paint scheme and it came out good. So out goes the green. As usual, did everything on rattlecans, none of this is perfect but it feels pretty solid.
-
• #45
Looks awesome. I agree plain Ti can be a bit boring but you want to leave a hint of it, that is perfect.
-
• #46
yeah that looks excellent, well done
-
• #47
Well, here's how it looks like at the moment. Still haven't gone through to sorting the fork out. Cant find my sandpapers so will ahve to wait until next weekend. Note sure if I should be painting it white as well or maybe just black. The stem will go back to bare titanium. Ran out of nitromors...
My Masking abilities are ok'ish, rough around the edges of the black paint. Pretty sure its the quality of the rattle can job. Really liking the white look so might send it off to get a professional job done. Got some black GT decals on their way so this wont look so barren as it is when they arrive.

• #48
That looks just like my Ti Serotta!
-
• #49
Looks good. Presume the forks will be white a half of the way down also?
-
• #50
@Fahrgestell Hah! Thats where exactly I got my idea :p
I think the slim mizuno fork looks great, though it makes the stem look massive in comparison
